Softball Recap: Norwalk Finds Home Field Redemption Against Ridgefield

There's no place like home for Norwalk, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ridgefield Tigers a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted against the Tigers since May 11, 2018.

Not much got past Maddie Collins, who gave up just five hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Ridgefield off the board. Collins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Norwalk saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally Lanzarotto, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Norwalk now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Ridgefield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
