Basketball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 97-56 loss at the hands of the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-26.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Brookland-Cayce, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert will face off against Airport at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Gilbert is facing Airport at the right time seeing as Airport is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Brookland-Cayce, they will welcome North Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Brookland-Cayce knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully North Augusta likes a good challenge.
