Volleyball Game Preview: Lima Senior Spartans vs. Scott Bulldogs

The Lima Senior Spartans will take on the Scott Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lima Senior has three straight wins, Scott has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Monday, Lima Senior got the win against Perry by a conclusive 3-0.

Alisandra Vanmeter went supernova, getting 14 digs and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served five or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Vanmeter wasn't the only good servers: Lima Senior was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Scott came up short against Rogers back in September, falling 3-0.

While Scott was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Rogers' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-14, 25-18.

Scott's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Lima Senior, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Everything went Lima Senior's way against Scott in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, as Lima Senior made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
