Softball Game Preview: Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats vs. Serra Cavaliers

The Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats will head out to face off against the Serra Cavaliers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bishop Conaty-Loretto came up short against St. Monica on Tuesday, falling 24-7.

Bishop Conaty-Loretto saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaslyn Sigaran, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Sigaran's first of the season. Angelique Aguillon was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Serra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 23-0 to Bishop Montgomery.

Bishop Conaty-Loretto's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Serra, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Serra's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Bishop Conaty-Loretto has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Serra, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 strikeouts. Will Bishop Conaty-Loretto keep running through batters, or will the Cavaliers buck the trend?

Everything went Bishop Conaty-Loretto's way against Serra in their previous matchup back in March, as Bishop Conaty-Loretto made off with a 24-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
