Soccer Game Preview: La Vega vs. Meyer

The La Vega Pirates are taking a road trip to face off against the Meyer Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

La Vega is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lorena just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leopards.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Meyer's offense. They came up short against Robinson on Friday, falling 7-0. Meyer haven't had much luck with Robinson recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

La Vega's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-2-2. As for Meyer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

La Vega got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in February of 2025 against Meyer by a conclusive 7-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
