Volleyball Game Preview: Sweeny Bulldogs vs. Sinton Pirates

After both having extra time off, the Sweeny Bulldogs and the Sinton Pirates will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Sweeny took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on La Marque with a sharp 3-0 win.

Sweeny was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Sinton made easy work of Ingleside on Friday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Sinton was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-10, 25-12.

The win got Sinton back to even at 16-16. As for Sweeny, they pushed their record up to 30-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
