Preview: Jefferson County Tigers vs. Northeast Jones Tigers
The Jefferson County Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Northeast Jones Tigers at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Jefferson County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 435 points over their last six games.
The matchup between Jefferson County and South Pike on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. Jefferson County took a 77-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Pike. Jefferson County has not had much luck with South Pike recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Northeast Jones' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 58-44 to Morton. While losing is never fun, Northeast Jones can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Morton is ranked 35th).
Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Northeast Jones, they bumped their record down to 3-16 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
