Basketball Recap: Rockwell Comes Up Short

Rockwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 59-51 to the Merit Preparatory Academy Knights. The Marshals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2025.

Despite the loss, Rockwell still got an impressive performance from Ethan Kearl, who posted 31 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Christiansen, who had 11 points and eight boards.

Rockwell's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Merit Preparatory Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Rockwell will face off against Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Marshals will need to watch out since the Marauders have now posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. As for Merit Preparatory Academy, they will challenge Mount Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.53 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
