Basketball Recap: Mount Dora Comes Up Short

After soaring to 58 points the game before, Mount Dora was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They lost 50-25 to the Winter Springs Bears. The matchup marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Mount Dora still got an impressive performance from Jaquayrn Nafield, who posted two points and five steals. Shamarr Lambert-Watkins also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Mount Dora is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. As for Winter Springs, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Mount Dora will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Ocoee at 7:00 p.m. As for Winter Springs, they will head out to challenge East River at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
