Softball Game Preview: Brandeis Broncos vs. Madison Mavericks

Brandeis hasn't had much luck against Madison recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Brandeis Broncos will welcome the Madison Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. Brandeis will be strutting in after a victory while Madison will be coming in after a defeat.

Brandeis hadn't beaten Clark on the road since February 22, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. Brandeis walked away with a 10-5 win over Clark.

Brandeis got a massive performance out of Peyton Miers, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Miers has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Renner Koloch, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Johnson, falling 15-3.

Brandeis' victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Brandeis suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Madison in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Brandeis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
