Baseball Recap: Biggersville Starts Season with Victory Against Falkner

Biggersville took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falkner Eagles, sneaking past 6-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Noah Burnett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Burnett was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Case Hilliard, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Billy Bearden, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Falkner, they will challenge Potts Camp at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
