Basketball Game Preview: Robinson Rockets vs. Connally Cadets

The Robinson Rockets are taking a road trip to square off against the Connally Cadets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Robinson came up short against Lorena on Wednesday, falling 54-29. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 531st, while the Leopards are ranked 194th).

Meanwhile, Connally came into Wednesday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against China Spring on Wednesday as they made off with a 54-34 win. The Cadets not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since November 21, 2025 (when they won 51-29).

Robinson's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Connally, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 8-18.

Robinson was able to grind out a solid win over Connally in their previous meeting on January 13th, winning 46-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
