Basketball Game Preview: Minarets Mustangs vs. Avenal Buccaneers

The Minarets Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Avenal Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Minarets is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Minarets saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were outmatched by Coalinga and fell 68-35. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Avenal came up short against Woodlake last Saturday and fell 42-31.

Minarets' defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Avenal, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Minarets was able to grind out a solid win over Avenal in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 43-31. Does Minarets have another victory up their sleeve, or will Avenal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
