Football Game Preview: Lynn English vs. Somerville

Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Somerville should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They take on Lynn English at Manning Field at 7:00 PM. Given their recent losses, both teams have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend.

Somerville had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 7-36 punch to the gut against Peabody Veterans Memorial last week. Somerville were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-22.

Meanwhile, Lynn English had to kick off their season on the road, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past Beverly with points to spare, taking the contest 38-21.

Lynn English's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Somerville's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Lynn English's success rolls on or if Somerville are able to steal their positive momentum.
