Football Recap: Wallkill Valley Falls to Montville in First Game of Season

Wallkill Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 25-7 to the Montville Mustangs.

Montville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayla Martinez led the charge by picking up 111 receiving yards and two TDs. Another signal caller making a difference was Nora Istvan, who threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of her passes.

The victory made it two in a row for Montville and bumps their season record up to 2-0-1.

Wallkill Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montville, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Morristown at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th.
