Basketball Game Preview: Goessel Bluebirds vs. Canton-Galva Eagles

The Goessel Bluebirds will take on the Canton-Galva Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses dating back to last season for Goessel and three for Canton-Galva.

Goessel is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Little River on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Goessel took a blow against Little River, falling 56-24. The Bluebirds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.

Meanwhile, Canton-Galva was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 58-52 to Solomon. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly six points.

Canton-Galva now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Goessel, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Goessel was dealt a bruising 72-33 defeat at the hands of Canton-Galva in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Goessel avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
