Basketball Recap: North Vermillion's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

On Saturday, the North Vermillion Falcons came up short against the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers and fell 48-39. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Chargin' Chargers are ranked 378th).

North Vermillion lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Teagan Leonard, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Edwards, who had seven points.

It was another big night for Kelby Harwood, who went 6 for 10 en route to 17 points in addition to seven boards and six assists for North Montgomery. That makes it four consecutive games in which Harwood has scored at least a third of North Montgomery's points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Enlow, who put up 14 points.

North Vermillion's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for North Montgomery, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-11 record.

North Vermillion will face off against South Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Vermillion is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season. North Montgomery has already played their next game (against Benton Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
