Basketball Recap: North Cobb Christian's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but North Cobb Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to the Woodstock Wolverines 66-61. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Wolverines are ranked 188th).

Despite the defeat, North Cobb Christian had strong showings from Grant Robich, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 18 points along with six assists and five steals, and Brock Bass Bonner, who went 9 for 20 en route to 26 points. That's the most steals Robich has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Wiseman, who posted eight points.

North Cobb Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Woodstock, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

North Cobb Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-45 defeat against Albany Academy for Boys on the 28th. As for Woodstock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 76-71 win against New Manchester on the 28th.
