Baseball Recap: Elkmont Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Elkmont can now relate to. They fell just short of the Phil Campbell Bobcats by a score of 5-4 on Friday. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Bobcats when the teams met back in May of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Elkmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Pendergrass, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Elkmont has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-11 record this season. As for Phil Campbell, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bobcats beat Elkmont by a score of 7-4 later that day.
