It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Effingham County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Statesboro Blue Devils 42-41. Winning may never get old, but the Rebels sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Effingham County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tucker Perkins, who threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Jmere Doe-Davis helped Perkins out on the ground, rushing for 79 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Statesboro lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Beckham Jarrard, who threw for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 48 yards and one score. Keon Childers was Jarrard's top target, picking up three receiving yards.
