Basketball Recap: Westerly Bulldogs vs. North Kingstown Skippers
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Westerly couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Kingstown Skippers on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Skippers this season, with their most recent loss being a 50-39 defeat back in February.

Despite the loss, Westerly saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ella Reyes dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. Reyes is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kate Rafferty was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.
It was another big night for Jaelyn Holmes, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards for North Kingstown. That's the most rebounds Holmes has posted since back in December of 2024.
Westerly's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for North Kingstown, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-1.
