Preview: Kingsley-Pierson Panthers vs. Homer Knights
The Kingsley-Pierson Panthers on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Homer Knights at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Kingsley-Pierson put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on Woodbury Central with a sharp 57-33 victory. Given Kingsley-Pierson's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Woodbury Central is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Homer can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Wakefield by a score of 58-51. With that victory, Homer brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Alexandra Albrecht was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with three steals and two blocks. Tori Walker was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Kingsley-Pierson's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Homer, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
