High school basketball: Jordan Smith, Caleb Holt and Colben Landrew headline top 10 shooting guards in 2025-26

No. 3-ranked senior Smith earned MaxPreps National Junior of the Year honors for Paul VI last season.

Our position-by-position breakdown of the 2025-26 high school basketball season continues with the shooting guards. The top small forwards, power forwards and centers will be highlighted throughout the week to continue our preseason coverage.

Jordan Smith of Paul VI (Chantilly, Va.)Caleb Holt of Prolific Prep (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Colben Landrew of Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.) headline the selections as all three players enter their senior campaigns with lofty expectations.

Second team MaxPreps Junior All-America selection averaged 18.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 2.8 steals per contest to help Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) finish ranked No. 16 in the final MaxPreps Top 25.

Second team MaxPreps Junior All-America pick tallied 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game to lead the Wildcats to the Class AAAAAA state title and the No. 7 spot in the final MaxPreps Top 25.

Top 40 prospect had an impressive summer on the club circuit after averaging 16.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game to lead the Crusaders to their third straight intersectional AA title.

6-4 | Senior | Duke
After averaging 17.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.0 steals per contest as a junior, the talented lefty had an impressive showing on the summer circuit to rise into the top 20 of the Class of 2026 rankings.

MaxPreps Junior All-America honorable mention selection posted 20.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest to help the Cardinals reach the Class 5A Division 1 state title game.

Helped lead Dynamic Prep (Irving, Texas) to the top spot in the National Top 10 rankings last season, averaging 7.8 points and 1.9 assists per contest on a roster loaded with talent. Hampton is expected to be the go-to guy at DME this season.

Led the Dragons in scoring in Nike EYBL Scholastic play last season, averaging 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.7 steals per contest across 11 league games.

Top prospect in the Tar Heel State averaged 23.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists per contest to earn third team MaxPreps Sophomore All-America honors.

Following an impressive season at Lincolnton (N.C.) that saw him average 33.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.6 steals per game to earn second team MaxPreps Sophomore All-America honors, Smith transferred to the longtime national powerhouse.
