Softball Recap: Woodstock Academy Comes Up Short

Woodstock Academy and Ledyard squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Woodstock Academy had to settle for second. They fell 11-6 to the Colonels. The Centaurs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Ella Chitmonotham made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Sortwell, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Woodstock Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Ledyard, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home.

Woodstock Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ledyard, they will face off against Guilford on Wednesday. The Colonels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
