Basketball Recap: Kongiganak Takes a Loss

Kongiganak was the 12-0 winner over Lewis Angapak when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Kongiganak Wolverines were dealt a 62-12 defeat at the hands of the Lewis Angapak Blue Jays on Saturday. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-5.

Lewis Angapak was led to victory by Emma Friendly and Rhiannon Nicholai. Friendly made all 6 shots she took for 15 points, while Nicholai made all 5 shots she took racking up 14 points. Friendly is also crushing it when it comes to shooting accuracy: she's posted at least one every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shalisa McDalton, who posted ten points.

Kongiganak's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Lewis Angapak, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
