Basketball Recap: Hancock Makes It 21 in a Row at Home

Hancock put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Pascagoula Panthers by a score of 48-39. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Panthers are ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hancock's win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Pascagoula, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Hancock will take on Biloxi in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Biloxi: 24.9, Hancock: 26.6) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Pascagoula, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Houston at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th.
