Volleyball Recap: Los Angeles Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Alliance Bloomfield last Friday, Los Angeles Leadership Academy came back down to earth. The Lions fell just short of the Smidt Tech Grey Wolves by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Grey Wolves earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Los Angeles Leadership Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-20, 20-25, 26-24, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Los Angeles Leadership Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Daniel Duarte had 15 assists and two aces.

Los Angeles Leadership Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Smidt Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.

Los Angeles Leadership Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against WISH Academy on the 4th. As for Smidt Tech, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Harbor Teacher on the 5th.
