Basketball Game Preview: Harrison Wildcats vs. Monroe Hornets

Harrison and Monroe are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Harrison Wildcats will face off against the Monroe Hornets at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Harrison will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Harrison will head into Monday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 38) and last Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Ross, sneaking past 34-32. The 34-point effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

It was another big night for Alli Robertson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. The matchup was her 25th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maggie Seiter, who posted five points.

Meanwhile, Monroe was able to grind out a solid win over Madison on Thursday, taking the game 31-19. That 12 point margin sets a new team best for the Hornets this season.

Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Harrison, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Harrison was able to grind out a solid victory over Monroe in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 30-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harrison since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
