Austin Catholic hasn't had much luck against Cardinal Mooney Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Austin Catholic Crusaders will head out on the road to square off against the Cardinal Mooney Catholic Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Austin Catholic's defense has only allowed 25.8 points per game this season, so Cardinal Mooney Catholic's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Austin Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 58-14 win over Detroit Cristo Rey. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Mooney Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-38 heartbreaker at the hands of Our Lady of the Lakes.

Cardinal Mooney Catholic's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-7. As for Austin Catholic, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Austin Catholic couldn't quite finish off Cardinal Mooney Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 34-32. Can Austin Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
