Basketball Recap: Lafayette Takes a Loss

Lafayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Park Hill South Panthers and fell 71-39. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Panthers are ranked 155th).

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Park Hill South, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Lafayette and Park Hill South will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Fighting Irish see the court they'll take on Winnetonka at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2026. As for Park Hill South, their break will end when they face Kearney at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
