Softball Recap: Enloe Eagles vs. Athens Drive Jaguars
Enloe hadn't beaten Athens Drive on the road since April 4, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. Enloe came out on top against Athens Drive by a score of 9-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Avery Modlin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Jaycey Morrrison and Kylan Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Morrrison went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles, while Wright scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Those two doubles gave Morrrison a new career-high. Emily Peters also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
