Recap: Aztec Tigers vs. Bloomfield Bobcats
Even though the Aztec Tigers have not done well against the Bloomfield Bobcats recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Aztec secured a 29-25 W over Bloomfield. The win made it back-to-back wins for Aztec.
Aztec was led to victory by Bailey Clarence and Jazzlyn Gomez. Clarence scored five points along with 11 rebounds and three steals, while Gomez dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Aztec's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. As for Bloomfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aztec will take on Shiprock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aztec is facing Shiprock at the right time seeing as Shiprock is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Bloomfield, they will head out on the road to square off against Gallup at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Bloomfield is ranked 29th, while Gallup is ranked 12th).
