Basketball Game Preview: Clarkson/Leigh Patriots vs. Howells-Dodge Jaguars

Clarkson/Leigh is 1-9 against Howells-Dodge since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Clarkson/Leigh Patriots will host the Howells-Dodge Jaguars at 5:00 p.m.

Clarkson/Leigh is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting West Point-Beemer an easy 55-29 win. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kyle McMullin, who posted 11 points in addition to six boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Matthies, who had nine points along with three steals and three blocks.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Howells-Dodge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-16 victory over Lyons-Decatur Northeast. That 53 point margin sets a new team best for the Jaguars this season.

Clarkson/Leigh's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Howells-Dodge, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Clarkson/Leigh was taken down by Howells-Dodge 71-36 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Clarkson/Leigh was down 42-17.
