Knightdale is 1-9 against Wakefield since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Knights will look to defend their home field against the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Knightdale will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Rolesville, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Knights blew past the Rams 16-5 on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the game before.

Bryson Irvin was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Knightdale is 3-1 when Irvin posts two or more runs, but 3-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tylen Harris, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Knightdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Wakefield entered their tilt with Heritage on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Huskies.
Wakefield also got a great performance from Garrett Ransom as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Ransom has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Wakefield's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Gross, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Wakefield's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Knightdale, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.
Knightdale might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Wakefield in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
