Volleyball Recap: BASIS Phoenix Starts Season with Win Against Odyssey Institute

BASIS Phoenix had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They won by a set and slipped past the Odyssey Institute Minotaur 3-2. This was payback for the Firebirds, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

BASIS Phoenix was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 19-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-8.

Odyssey Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

BASIS Phoenix and Odyssey Institute will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time BASIS Phoenix sees the court they'll take on Parker at 5:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Odyssey Institute, their break will end when they face Madison Highland Prep at 5:30 p.m. on the 25th.
