Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon Wildcats vs. Jasper Wildcats

Saturday just wasn't the day for Mt. Vernon's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Jasper Wildcats on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mt. Vernon of the 10-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

For Jasper's part, the result came thanks to Romey Werner's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Brooke Kleiser and Olivia Young did most of the damage at the plate: Kleiser scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2, while Young scored a run while going 2-for-3.
