The Long Beach Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to St. Martin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Long Beach in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now lost three in a row.

St. Martin was led to victory by Kai Vieira and Ty'Lah Whitlock. Vieira scored ten points, while Whitlock dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Whitlock scored 15 or more points.

Long Beach dropped their record down to 4-23 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for St. Martin, their win bumped their record up to 5-20.

Long Beach will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. As for St. Martin, they will head out on the road to challenge the Greyhounds at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
