Basketball Recap: Monroe-Woodbury Takes a Loss

Monroe-Woodbury was the 44-42 winner over Cornwall Central when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cornwall Central Dragons on Monday. The match marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Monroe-Woodbury and nudges their season record down to 4-5. As for Cornwall Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monroe-Woodbury will take on Minisink Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe-Woodbury is facing Minisink Valley at the right time seeing as Minisink Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Cornwall Central, they will face off against Port Jervis at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
