Softball Recap: Amarillo Find Success

While Amarillo's victory against Caprock wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Amarillo Sandies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Caprock Longhorns on Friday, sneaking past 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Sandies in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now won eight in a row.

Braylee Shuffield was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases.

Amarillo pushed their record up to 12-5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Caprock, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Looking ahead, Amarillo will head out on the road to take on Lubbock at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Caprock, they will host Lubbock-Cooper at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
