Soccer Game Preview: South Dade vs. Palmetto

The South Dade Buccaneers will take on the Palmetto Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Dade will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

South Dade is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was South Dade who was credited with the victory. South Dade got it done in the shootout by posting one goals to Coral Gables' zero.

Palmetto is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Lourdes Academy just ended the team's six-game winning streak last Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Lourdes Academy. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Lourdes Academy are ranked fourth).

Palmetto's goal came courtesy of Catalina Restrepo, which was the first she's scored this season.

South Dade is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season. As for Palmetto, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4-1.

South Dade suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Palmetto in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can South Dade avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
