Basketball Game Preview: Woodland Bobcats vs. Victory Christian Lions

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Woodland Bobcats take on the Victory Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday... Woodland is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Woodland saw some tournament action on Thursday. They were dealt a 65-35 defeat at the hands of Wadley.

Meanwhile, Victory Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 66-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coosa Christian.

Woodland will need focus on slowing down Peyton Scott, one of several Victory Christian players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 for 17 on his way to 25 points. The game was Scott's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Wilson, who went 9 of 19 en route to 20 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Victory Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Victory Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Woodland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Woodland beat Victory Christian 54-45 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Will Woodland repeat their success, or does Victory Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
