Recap: Hoover Cardinals vs. Point Loma Pointers
The Hoover Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 26 points or more this season. They blew past Point Loma 82-48 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-23.
Hoover's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Exavier Williams, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 5 assists. Williams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mohamed Abdisalan, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Hoover and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Point Loma, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Hoover won't have much time to rest: their next match is against San Ysidro at 5:00 p.m. on December 19th. San Ysidro is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Point Loma won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Morse at 3:30 p.m. on December 19th. Morse knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Point Loma likes a good challenge.
