Football Recap: Turner County Takes a Loss

The Turner County Titans ended up a good deal behind the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings on Friday and lost 21-6. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Turner County still got an impressive performance from Curtis Grant, who rushed for 134 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. Grant didn't just play on offense: he also forced two fumbles and made 11 total tackles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Anne-Pacelli to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donovan 'DJ' Colvin, who rushed for 138 yards and one TD. Colvin's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 121 rushing yards. Cameron Carino was another key player, rushing for 72 yards and one score.

Turner County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they pushed their record up to 4-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Turner County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 40-8 loss against Clinch County on the 24th. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-16 victory against Westfield School on the 24th.
