Softball Recap: Crestview Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Margaretta, Crestview was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Monroeville Eagles 1-0. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

The result came thanks to Allison Volz's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.6 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Crestview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Hillman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Hillman has hit this season.

Crestview's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Monroeville, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.

Crestview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 loss against Mapleton on the 16th. As for Monroeville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-3 defeat against New Riegel on the 16th.
