BASKING RIDGE, N.J. - the Red Devils had a big 28-point first quarter on Saturday, sealing a 53-7 victory over Somerville (N.J.).
Ridge scored on four rushing touchdowns in the quarter, including one by
Nick Franzese.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, RHS led 38-7 at the half.
The Basking Ridge school expanded its lead to 39 points entering the fourth quarter. The Red Devils scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.
The Red Devils raced to 28 in the first quarter alone and kept up the pace for the win.
Somerville's only touchdown came on a pass in the second quarter.
The loss was the fourth in a row for the Pioneers. With the win RHS extended its winning streak to four games.
