Football Game Preview: Ralston Valley Mustangs vs. Cherry Creek Bruins + How To Watch

Ralston Valley is 0-6 against Cherry Creek since November of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Bruins at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Ralston Valley has 13 wins , while Cherry Creek has 26 dating back to last season).

Ralston Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-28 win over Mountain Vista. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since October 18, 2024.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Zeke Andrews and Marquise Reese. Andrews had a solid game and rushed for 57 yards and one score. Meanwhile, Reese was balling out in the loss, throwing for 232 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 44 yards.

Meanwhile, Cherry Creek faced Valor Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bruins walked away with a 21-13 win over the Eagles. The 21-point effort marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Ralston Valley better keep an eye on Jayden Fox. He was instrumental in Cherry Creek's win, rushing for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Ty Goettsche did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 117 receiving yards.

Ralston Valley's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Cherry Creek, their win bumped their record up to an identical 13-0.

Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Ralston Valley has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 171.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cherry Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 203.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Ralston Valley came up short against Cherry Creek when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 21-14. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
