Basketball Recap: Wallington Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Wallington challenged Becton on Saturday. The Panthers were beaten by the Wildcats 72-43. The Panthers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Danny Wallner was his usual excellent self, going 10-for-16 en route to 23 points along with six assists and six rebounds for Becton. Thanks to that strong game, Wallner now owns an excellent 46% field goal percentage. Michael Callanan was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

Wallington's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Becton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wallington will take on Lodi at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Becton, they will challenge Harrison at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
