It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Brandon had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the Ocean Springs Greyhounds. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 16 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Jay McQueen made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. McQueen was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Brandon's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 14-4 (and 7-8 when he doesn't).

In other pitching news, Cooper Hooks looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Brandon got a massive performance out of Tre McQueen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave McQueen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Forbes, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Brandon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Brandon pushed their record up to 21-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Ocean Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-8-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Brandon nor Ocean Springs have any future games scheduled.
