Volleyball Recap: Pike Falls Despite Big Games from Kendall Joiner and Justice King

Pike was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Lawrence North Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-9.

Pike's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Justice King, who had nine digs and two aces, and Kendall Joiner, who had five digs and one assist.

Lawrence North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayda Vanoskey led the charge by getting six digs and five aces. That's the most aces Vanoskey has posted since back in August.

Pike's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Lawrence North, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-16 record this season.

Pike does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lawrence North, they will be taking part in a tournament against Shelbyville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
