Baseball Game Preview: Walnut Wildcats vs. Alcorn Central Bears

Walnut is 1-7 against Alcorn Central since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Walnut will face off against Alcorn Central at 12:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Walnut and New Site have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. Walnut lost 10-0 to New Site.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Alcorn Central's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 7-3 to Nettleton.

Alcorn Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Koehlinger, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Walnut's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Alcorn Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Walnut came up short against Alcorn Central when the teams last played back in February, falling 8-4. Can Walnut avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
